Individual Therapy

Individual Therapy begins with a big decision. It means finding time and emotional space to talk and learn about yourself, believing that what you say, think, and do matters, and that someone cares.

It’s a commitment to yourself; one that shouldn’t be taken lightly. But don’t worry: my role is not to pressure you. I recommend an initial phase of therapy, of 1-3 sessions at my Walnut Creek office, minutes away from neighboring cities, Pleasant Hill and Concord, to discuss background, goals, previous experiences of therapy (and the expectations that may come with those experiences). In this stage, I listen, get to know you. In addition, I provide the benefit of my years of experience as a therapist and share my thoughts on the problems you bring and where they may be coming from. Together we’ll make a plan, anticipate potential obstacles, and then see if working together is a fit.

If you’re suffering from depression, anxiety, or low self-esteem, individual therapy may be right for you.
